Livestock futures markets closed mixed as volatility fell. 2/13/26

Livestock markets finished a relatively quiet session with softer price action across the board. April Live Cattle futures settled at 240.62, trading within a narrow 1.00 range. March Feeder Cattle futures rose 0.42 to settle at 366.15, though prices ended the week 1.27 lower. In the hog market, April Lean Hog futures slid 0.55 to 91.27 as April officially became the front month following the expiration of the February contract. The cash market showed mixed signals with wholesale Box Beef choice cuts slightly lower and select cuts moving higher. USDA slaughter data reported 454,000 head for the week to date, remaining in line with the previous year. Implied volatility for Live Cattle futures and Feeder Cattle futures ended the day lower, dropping 21 and 13 ticks respectively.
